Coming Soon: Junction

Junction began with an observation of the everyday.

Moving through Sydney, we became interested in the modular handrail systems found throughout the city's urban landscape. Simple in construction yet highly adaptable, these structures demonstrated how a single connecting principle could create a wide range of configurations.

This became the starting point for Junction, a collection developed around a common structural system.

At the centre of the collection is Junction, a spherical connecting joint made from steel.

The design began with sketches exploring how multiple tubular sections could meet at a single point. These ideas were developed through multiple prototypes, refining the proportions and connection details.

The spherical component is produced through CNC turning, with the connecting surfaces machined, drilled and threaded to accommodate the tubular framework. Each component is then assembled to create the Junction joint.

The joint allows tubular sections to connect in different directions, creating a framework that can be adapted across a wide range of furniture types.

Using the same connecting system, the collection extends from tables and seating to larger furniture configurations. Each piece shares a consistent structural language while responding to different functional requirements.

Polished stainless steel provides a consistent framework throughout the collection, with powder-coated finishes offering further options for colour and expression. Marble, timber veneers and upholstery can be introduced in different combinations.

Junction can also be configured through dimensions, layout and integrated features. Tables can extend through additional sections, with cable management and power options. Sofa configurations can incorporate privacy panels, side and perch tables, and power.

From individual pieces to larger integrated systems, Junction provides a common framework for different applications.

The rectangular, square and round table formats include dining and high options. Sofas explore straight, L-shaped and U-shaped arrangements. Across these different types, the joint and tubular framework remain the common reference. Rather than prescribing a single configuration, Junction can respond to the scale, function and materials of a particular environment.
