Zushi Barangaroo by Koichi Takada Architects

There’s a certain energy to Barangaroo that Sydneysiders know well. It’s the city at its most contemporary — bold, vibrant, and unmistakably design-conscious.
Surrounded by global architectural landmarks including Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners’ International Towers, Renzo Piano’s One Sydney Harbour, One Barangaroo by WilkinsonEyre, and Barangaroo House by Collins and Turner Architects, the precinct has become a stage where architecture, culture, and lifestyle converge.

Zushi Barangaroo brings Sydney’s modern Japanese dining to Barangaroo. Designed by Koichi Takada Architects, the interiors pair flowing timber and sculptural details with the harbour-side, creating a space that is both serene and distinctly Japanese. Since its establishment in 2016, the restaurant has undergone a major expansion earlier this year, increasing its seating capacity by a hundred diners to better serve its growing clientele.

For Zushi, the Barangaroo expansion marks a considered growth, reinforcing the brand’s reputation for fresh, contemporary Japanese cuisine. Already a favourite across the city, the expanded location combines tradition with a modern dining experience.

The project features Nomi’s Hikari collection, a newly launched range of refined outdoor furniture. Inspired by the Japanese word for light, Hikari combines minimalist lines with understated elegance, designed to complement and enhance any setting.
