Warren and Mahoney’s Sydney Studio, designed by Warren and Mahoney (WAM), is more than an office, it’s a collaborative hub reflecting the firm’s ethos of creativity and teamwork. Every element, from open layout to lighting, is designed to invite chance encounters, cross-disciplinary dialogue, and innovation.
Nomi’s mission is to connect users directly to the workshop, allowing users to customise furniture online. “The Making” series offers a glimpse into this process. In this edition, we explore how artisans handcraft our popular Gathering Table using natural materials.
Project Feature: Warren & Mahoney Melbourne Studio
Warren and Mahoney, a New Zealand-founded architectural firm, has been operating in Australia for over a decade. The firm’s new studio is its second home in the city. The new studio is located in the heart of Melbourne’s central business district. It is a state-of-the-art facility that will allow Warren and Mahoney to continue to deliver world-class design solutions to its clients.
In collaboration with Cox Architecture, the fitout showcases a blend of standard NOMI pieces and bespoke furniture developed specifically for the project. The furniture exhibits functionality and durability that are well-matched for the bustling ambiance of the Azure Cafe.
Founded by interior designers Cushla McFadden and Jade Nottage, Tom Mark Henry is a Sydney-based multifaceted studio that has since created unique and reflective design solutions for a range of project types. NOMI was excited to be included in their new Darlinghurst office which exudes a modern and warm atmosphere.
Designed by Billard Leece Partnership, Fujitsu Melbourne’s headquarters is a tasteful and harmonious blend of Japanese heritage and local Melbourne flavour.
A look at the newly-transformed Australian Museum – Neeson Murcutt + Neille
After 15 months of significant transformation, Australia’s oldest museum and Sydney’s heritage landmark, the Australian Museum, has reopened its doors to the public last November 2020.
Owned by father and son – Rodney and Jamie Washer – the business is built around a love of contemporary design that is ethical, innovative and sustainable. While they sell brands from around the world, they are particularly interested in representing Australian furniture brands. DesignFARM’s ethos is to only support the sale of excellent, original design – they wouldn’t dream of selling a replica.
The new interior design for All Souls Chapel has taken what was once described as a ‘clinical’ interior, and transformed it into a place of warmth, texture and subtle colour.
In the Fujitsu offices, Billard Leece Partnership ensured that the company’s values of innovation, quality and respect for the environment were reinforced. As a sustainable, FSC accredited product, NOMI’S High Dove Table was tailored to ensure a collaborative working space.

Led by multi-disciplinary designer Bob Barton, in collaboration with architects Herbert & Mason, the space brings outside and inside, building and sky together, to create layers of shade, breeze, recreation and escapism
Woodstack Chair – Abbotsford House by Therefore Studio
With a focus on practicality without compromising the projects modern aesthetic, Therefore Studio featured NOMI’s Woodstack Chair to echo the warm, timber accents throughout the house. Designed by Tomek Archer, this solid oak chair is detailed with clean, simple lines that blend with its understated surroundings.
Tribe Studio Architects applied their signature pragmatic and poetic approach to building a comfortable, contemporary home. Inside this minimalist residence is a double-storey void which envelops the open space with abundant, natural light. Responding to the sensibilities of materiality and tone, House Collins also features a new living room that extends into the rear garden to welcome quiet luxury.

Central to the project is NOMI’s Woodstack Chair. Engineered with a gentle carved backrest, the refined details offer a quiet character that gracefully intertwines into it’s surroundings.
